The Stormlord, Ex Tempestate This was an extremely fun and challenging build, I’m very happy that my customer and I got to spend so much time designing it.

Here are some details on the Stormlord.
Blade: The blade is made out of 15n20 and 1095, and is a special pattern I worked on to evoke a lightning storm.
Handle: The guard has two labradorite stones inset which look like a stormy night sky, and emanating from them are engraved lightning bolts that run through the handle and wind up in the pommel, showing the storm working all the way through the blade.  The handle material is African Blackwood, with mild steel for the fittings.
Forging: It took me almost two months to forge this blade. It was incredibly enjoyable, and even the hand sanding was fun in its own way.
Construction: It has a through tang with a frame tang wood handle and peened over on the pommel.
Geometry: In order for such a long blade to be wielded with one hand I gave it two deep double Hollow grounds, giving it a diamond index, plus the multiple fullers near the base of the blade. It’s light and flexible.
